I have now found out that Sam Raimi is set to remake his masterpiece of horror cinema The Evil dead, set for a 2009 release it will based on the book of the dead which can summon demons which will see a group of people surviving the horrific events to come. Original star Bruce Campbell has been announced as one of the producers and the new movie will star ex-buffy star Eliza Dushku and Desmond Harrington who both worked together on the 2003 horror movie Wrong Turn.

In other news Legendary Italian horror film director Dario Argento has been confirmed as one of the writer's for the upcoming 1977 Suspiria remake which was about a girl entering a ballet academy only to later discover run by a coven of witches. With a 2009 release in the works word is that they want Natalie Portman to play the leading role.
