Jackson and Mike Myers the film is shooting in Berlin, Germany and will be finished in late February just in time for the Cannes film festival. Another project Quentin was involved in was Killshot, a new movie out soon that stars Dianne Lane and Thomas Jane as a married couple after witnessing an incident go under the witness protection program, now Quentin has pulled out due to other filming projects which is a shame because this movie looks good and will be released in January 2009. Coffy movie reviewCoffy Rating- R18+ Violence, Nudity, Drug use Director- Jack Hill Writer- Jack Hill Genre- Action, Crime Cast- Pam Grier- Coffy Booker Bradshaw- Howard Sid Haig- Omar William Elliot- Carter
Coffy is a 1973 blaxploitation film starring Pam Grier who by day is a nurse and by night a woman on her quest for revenge against the people who harmed her sister with drug abuse. The wonderful Pam Grier does a good job in this film playing Coffy especially in the action scenes where she blows the head off a crooked man is great. Blaxploitation films started in the early 1970's and are fan favourites now all over the world, these particular films inspired some of Quentin Tarantino's character's in his movies one being Uma Thurman's character in the Kill Bill films. Verdict Overall an exciting movie full of action, nudity and brawls what more could you ask for in a movie, I give Coffy 4/5
Tv remakes into moviesMovies aren't the only things to be remade in the near future, television shows are also the next big thing to be remade from the small screen to the big. I am a fan of 1980's soap opera Dallas which is currently under production and will star Katie Cassidy as Lucy Ewing there are also rumours Diane lane and husband James Brolin are to play the parents Miss Ellie and Jock Ewing while Luke Wilson will play Bobby Ewing, the film will start shooting early 2009 but no release date yet. Also another 80's soap opera is being remade Dynasty which starred Joan Collins and Linda Evans who played arch-enemies on the hit primetime soap and famous for their on screen catfights has been announced and producers want Catherine zeta-jones and Michelle Pheiffer as the dueling rivals. Also in other news a second Simpsons movie has been confirmed but no details on the next script have been announced, if it took 15 years to make the first film we will have to wait a long time for the next one probably. more movie remakes 20092009 is going to be another year for remakes including The shadow, Battle Royale, The evil dead, Logan's run, The last house on the left, The birds, Akira, The warriors, Nightmare on elm street, Fame, Footloose and The thing. But one movie that shouldn't be remade is the 1961 classic Breakfast At Tiffany's which starred Aubrey Hepburn is slated for a 2009 release and the producers want Lindsay Lohan to play the infamous role of Holly Golightly which people are saying could resurrect her career, What do you all think should Breakfast At Tiffany's be remade? More news on kill bill anime filmsWith more news on Quentin Tarantino's anime films Uma Thurman now says she will have no part in the two films and that the stories will reflect more on the history of Bill and the future of the bride, but come on it wouldn't be a kill bill film without Uma in it so she could be just teasing us at this stage. Also a new edition of kill bill is in the works and will expand on the original movies and include additional anime stories that quentin himself wrote. Will keep updates on this project for you all. 2009 movie entryNext year's line up of movies is going to make 2009 an excellent year, already there is Bride wars, The box, Avatar, Transformers 2: Revenge of the fallen, Terminator: Salvation and alot of remakes especially in the horror genre with Friday the 13th, The wolfman and Sorority Row, but one movie I really want to see is Wolverine the prequel to the X-men movies about Logan ( Hugh Jackman ) who seeks revenge against sabertooth for the death of his lover. The release date is for 30 April 2009 here in Australia and will also star Ryan reynolds and Liev Schreiber as sabertooth. I'll keep you all posted on updates of the film. Robert Rodriguez movie updateI am such a huge fan of Robert Rodriguez's since I saw From Dusk til' dawn and since seeing Sin City one of 2005's best movies, I can now say I'm dying to wait for the upcoming Sin City sequel. The movie will be based around the A Dame To Kill For story but word on Quentin Tarantino's involvement is looking like a no at this stage due to the fact he's busy with Inglorious Basterds. Rumour is Rose Mcgowan will play Ava Lord and that Robert wants to film Sin City 2 and 3 back to back. The movie is slated for a 2009 release date but I dont think that will happen so we will all have to wait for 2010 and 2011 for those films. In other news Robert wants to remake a Barbarella film the original starring Jane Fonda with his love interest Rose Mcgowan but rumours have said she has pulled out and that Jessica Alba wants the role, also a new Conan movie is in the works and Robert wants Danny Trejo as the muscled sword man as the leading man, Danny who was in Robert's fake trailer for the movie Planet Terror has announced that the trailer Machete will become an actual film and there are three stories for the trilogy.
I would like anyone out there that reads my blogs to feel free to leave comments on what you think of my blogs. movie informationI can't wait for the much anticipated movie of 2009, Watchmen which is to be released here in Australia on March 5, the story revolves around an ex- superhero who is murdered which reunites the other superheros to prevent destruction. It will star Carla Gugino ( Sin City ), Malin Ackerman ( The Heartbreak Kid ) and Patrick Wilson ( Little Children), and is directed by the talented Zack Snyder of Dawn of the Dead remake and 300 fame.
Also news on Zack word is he's going to be making a 300 prequel to the smash hit movie of 2007. It has just been announced and is currently slated to begin shooting in 2010 but no word on cast yet but hopefully Gerard Butler will reprise his role. movie informationIm so excited to hear that actress Rose Mcgowan is taking on the role of the sword-swinging she- devil vixen Red Sonja a character from the marvel comic book. It will be produced by Robert Rogriguez ( Sin City ) and filming is currently underway. The 80's movie version sucked shit but by the looks of these posters which you can view in my pictures section it should be a great movie. The movie at this stage could be out late 2009 or early 2010. In other news this year on may 28 Robert Rodriguez had announced plans to direct a new show everyone is raving about entitled Women In Chains, the show which was originally penned by creator Josh Miller is currently writing the storylines which will include sadistic guards, cafeteria hosedowns, mud- wrestling, violent vendettas and catfights. One of the actress' on board is Robert's current squeeze Rose Mcgowan who will star as one of the show's leading females which the show is being describe as a violent prison drama. Animation movie reviewDead Space Downfall Rating MA15+- Strong animated Horror Violence, Blood and gore Director- Chuck Patton Writers- Justin Gray, Jimmy Palmiotti Genre- Animation, Horror Cast- Voices Of Kirk Bailey Jeff Bennett- Leggio Kelly Hu- Shen Nika Futterman- Alissa
Dead space downfall is an animated movie, a prequel to the video game Dead space which takes place on a mining ship. The horror begins when the crew discover a religious artifact, they unearth it and take on board the ship. The artifact unleashes an alien species which quickly starts slaughtering everyone on board turning them into carnage eating zombies. The security consists of Alissa ( Futterman ), shen ( Hu ), Leggio ( Bennett ) who insitintly go into action protecting and trying to rescue the survivors and at the same time trying to stay alive. Verdict I am a huge fan of animation and this is one film that is very gory, bloody which is probabably a good thing it's animated, the animation alone is done quite well but for the game fans you will at least understand how it all starts, i give this 3/5 for an enjoyable watch i will be now going and playing the game. exploitation moviesMy name is Sam and im your very own movie man. On my blogs I will be discussing old and current movie titles, directors and upcoming movies for 2009 and my passion for exploitation films, I hope you enjoy my recommendations. Thankyou. For my first review it is a cult classic and among a favourite of mine, and has become a well known B-grade movie around the world, The Big Doll House which was released in America in 1971 tells the story of a group of women surviving the harsh treatments of the wardress in an all female prison.
The Big Doll House Rating- R18+ Violence, drug use, adult themes, sex scene Director- Jack Hill Writer- Don Spencer Genre- Action, Drama Cast- Judith M. Brown- Collier Roberta Collins- Alcott Pam Grier- Grear Sid Haig- Harry
The film starts off with Collier ( Brown ) being sent to an all female prison in the Phillipines for murdering her husband. She is then introduced to her cellmates who take an instint disliking to her, the women do not get along and this results in tiffs, a cafeteria hosedown to a mud- wrestling catfight. The wardress is a sadistic cruel bitch who inflicts tortue on the women for no apparent reason so the women plot to escape with the help of two men. Breaking out of the prison they decide to take the wardress hostage with guns ablazing enter the woods, take refuge and fight back. Verdict You know where this movie is going with the obvious predictable storylines but chicks with guns mud-wrestling is something that made the 1970's the decade for exploitation cinema. Other movies in this series are the 1972 sequel The Big Bird Cage, Women in Cages and the Arena
